Dedications at One Life

Christian families often choose to dedicate their children to the Lord, before the church. At One Life, we practice this beautiful ceremony. Dedication is a beautiful time where families commit to raise their children in the ways of the Lord; to love, follow, and trust Jesus. Dedication is not an assurance of salvation or a promise that our children won't experience troubles. It is a covenant families make with God to trust Him in the upbringing of our children.

What is child dedication?
Child dedication is a public commitment made by parents to raise their child in the Christian faith. It’s an opportunity for parents to express their desire to nurture their child’s spiritual growth and invite God’s guidance and blessing over their child’s life. 
Is child dedication the same as baptism?
No, child dedication is not the same as baptism. Baptism is a personal decision made by an individual who has accepted Christ as their Savior, whereas child dedication is a commitment by parents to raise their child in the faith. It is not a substitute for baptism but a significant step in showing your commitment to your child's spiritual well-being. 
Are there any requirements for child dedication?
Yes, parents must be members of One Life Church in order to participate in the child dedication ceremony. We also encourage parents to have a sincere commitment to raising their child in the Christian faith and to seek support from the church community as they take on the responsibility of guiding their child's spiritual journey.  
Who can participate in child dedication?
Child dedication is for parents or guardians who wish to make a public commitment to raise their child in the faith. Parents must be members of One Life Church to participate. We try to be as accommodating as possible for other family members or those committed to supporting the child’s spiritual journey, and we welcome them to join the immediate family during the dedication ceremony.
